Argon extinguishes a fire by displacing oxygen. When oxygen levels fall below the limit required for combustion, the fire is suppressed.  Argon is found naturally in the air and thus does not have adverse effect on the atmosphere. The Minimax Argon system is a single gas Inert system available per NFPA 2001, with zero Ozone Depleting Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.

Minimax Argon systems are exactly that, utilizing a single molecule Ar gas.  No complicated blends to deal with, as a single molecule gas Argon has been found to be effective on many Class D hazards.  The single molecule structure is more stable in higher heat applications are are common in metal fires such as magnesium and lithium.  At higher concentrations it may be a viable alternative to the standard Class D dry powders.  With proper design application and detection Argon systems can be effective on many of the hard to protect hazards.

The Minimax Argon system suppresses fire via oxygen depletion.  Argon is found naturally in the air and thus does not have an adverse effect on the atmosphere. Not other extinguishing gas has such a excellent environmental track record. Argon is not-toxic and electrically non-conductive.
